How Are You Being Fed?

I went to Woody Allen's movie Midnight In Paris yesterday.  What a great movie!  It was a fantasy for the main character and we got to live vicariously through him in this movie. 

He was a writer who dreamed of living in Paris.  He longed for the lifestyle of the famous authors, painters, and artists of days past.  For an hour we got to time travel and feel the joys, miracles, and longings of the actors.

In April I saw this butterfly exhibit and marveled at the colors of the butterflies, and the terrific patterns on their wings.  They are moving pieces of art.  I captured them on my camera as they were feeding.

NATURAL PERFUME WORKSHOP

I will be teaching a Natural Perfume Workshop on Thursday, February 3 at 10 am and Sunday, February 6  at 2 pm.  The cost is $250.00 and it is 3 hours long.  You will learn the basics of perfumery and create your perfume in class to be taken home. All supplies are provided.  There is still room in the class.

I also teach online classes using Skype. Aromatic Journeys I a 1 hour for $50.00. Aromatic Journeys II a 1 hour for $50.00. NP workshop $250.00 for 3 hours. After the NP class then I teach an Accord class for 1 hour for $50.00. I send sample vials, blotters, info etc to you. My Favorite Pink and White Lilies

These beautiful soft white and pink lilies are very special to me.  They have a sweet softness about them. 
The soothing fragrance exuding from them is a perfume I would love to bottle...I do not think a tincture of the flowers would do them justice...I will have to be patient and wait for them to bloom each year..Enjoy!

Designing A New Collection

Designing a new collection is a very creative and energetic thing to do on a Monday.  Putting all of your thoughts on paper.  Thinking about what names to use, what essences to choose, what colors, smells, textures, and feelings to bring about. 

The other really great thing about 100% natural botanical fragrances are they have healing properties.  The plant energys are very nuturing and wonderful.  Creating fragrances that evoke a state of mind, a body sensation, a peace of mind, or relaxation or comfort response.  There are many outcomes to fragrances.  Which will you choose?  What do you want to feel or evoke when you apply a fragrance?  So goes the journey...tune in next week...

Thankful Thursday

Roses, Roses, Roses

I adore roses...My good friends Renate and George went to the Descanso gardens near Pasadena, CA.  Renate took photos of these beauties and emailed them.  They look like the rose Double Delight with the light and dark variation in color.  I can almost smell the sweet perfume...nature at its finest...

As an artisan botanical perfumer I use a lot of live roses in my botanical perfumes.  I tincture and macerate them and use them mostly in my Bespoke Perfumes.  They are one of a kind couture perfumes that I offer.  I offer the bespoke perfumes in person or through the mail.  It is a very special gift for you or the one you love.

You can also look in my ready to wear collections for perfumes made with roses.  There are many to choose from.

These roses and rose buds getting ready to open remind me that there are many possibilities in life.  On this new moon day ...be open to all that is new today...and always.

I love, love, love fireworks...always have.  I ooh and aah like a child..The colors, the shapes, the sounds.  Boom, ratteley tat, sisssss. 

The barbecue smells have been going strong for two days now..barbecue sauce, meat on the grill, smoke smells, baked beans, potato salad, and watermelon...Getting hungry just smelling the air...Have a great day.

the voices faint behind me weave like a ribbon through the caravan.

The tent flap beckons, waves of spice reach out to me,

my heartbeat fights with my voice..
the satin and the scent lead me onward,
while the lamplight flickers around me.

I see you,  and caught by the look in your eyes....
